Keyword analysis is a strategic research and part of the SEO – measure to identify key or search terms on a particular topic, which are preferably entered by the target audience in the Google search engine.
Keywords can be divided into three categories: Short Tail Keywords, Mid Tail Keywords and Long Tail Keywords.
- Short tail keywords are very short search terms such as “coat” and their search volume is usually very high.
- Mid Tail Keywords are more specific like “buy coat” and have a medium search volume.
- Long Tail Keywords are long, specific search terms/questions like “buy ladies cashmere coat”. Their search volume is therefore mostly low.
With the Coversion Rate it is the other way around Short Tail Keywords have a low conversion rate, Mid Tail Keywords have a medium conversion rate and Long Tail Keywords have a high conversion rate.

There are now many SEO tools on the Internet that can help you here, such as “Ubersuggest”, “Google Trends” or “Sistrix”. With these tools you can create a keyword list with the evaluation criteria: Search volume, CPC (Cost per Click), competition, positioning and impressions.
First of all, it must be filtered out which search intention the desired target group has. This can then be used for optimization, which is precisely tailored to the target group.
It would be optimal to optimize keywords that have a high search volume, low competition, good positioning and a good CPC. On most SEO tools you can export the keyword list using a CSV export and then edit and optimize it.
