With over 1 billion users, Instagram is one of the best-known social media platforms worldwide. 30 million people can be reached in Germany, according to Facebook’s ad manager. Half of them watch Stories every day.

Your friends use it, your competitors use it. Instagram is an integral part of many people’s daily lives out there, their daily visual influences.

The following 7 reasons show you why Instagram could also be an advertising channel for your business and for your website!

1.) Detailed targeting

Instagram gives us the possibility to create very precise target groups. In addition to demographics such as location, age, language, and gender, we can target our ads to people in certain professions, with certain interests, and with certain behaviors.

We can also create Lookalike Audiences and Custom Audiences with the help of well-constructed tracking.

Custom Audience: target groups from sources such as customer lists, website visitors, converters.

Lookalike Audiences: target groups that are similar to selected Custom Audiences.

Good tracking is essential here. We always recommend setting up the Facebook Pixel together with the Conversion API. The Conversion API helps the Facebook Pixel to track conversions that would otherwise have been lost when using the Facebook Pixel alone. This is done with the Conversion API on the server side and can be helpful especially with the “iOS 14 problem”.
