The Google Phantom Update is about more algorithm changes, but it is about the core algorithm. The first of these updates occurred in 2015, resulting in significant changes in the SERPs.
Another name for the update is also Core Algorithm Update. The fact that specific changes are made to the algorithm of the search engine allows Google to control certain mechanisms of the search results.
Changes in detail: Google remains silent
What exactly will be changed, however, is one of the search engine’s corporate secrets. However, it is certain that, as with Fred, it is about improving the quality of websites and thus improving search results. Especially the mechanism in the background of the search results is said to be affected by the update.
Unlike Panda or Penguin, the Phantom Update cannot be assigned to any website area. The two updates mentioned are primarily concerned with devaluing low-quality content or Links – the Phantom Update deals with the pure core of the search engine.
